ABOUT THE PROJECT

Wolf and Lion Pet Supplies is a local San Francisco pet store. While they have an existing website, they want to introduce e-commerce to generate revenue and attract more customers to their store. 

COMPETITIVE RESEARCH

Can attract more customers to the store.  

Wolf and Lion can differentiate from their direct competitors by providing an e-commerce mobile app. Also, they can provide an easier user experience for their customers by providing free online delivery and in store pick ups.

PERSONA

A mobile e-commerce app would be perfect for Jason because as a frequent shopper at Wolf and Lion, he can easily open the app and buy his items. 

 

I also think a loyalty program can create stickiness and encourage Jason to come back even more often.

I foster kittens and I frequently need to buy cat food and supplies.  I need these items to be shipped to my house at least once a month.

Through usability testing, I found

that this hamburger menu is not ascetically consistent here. 

Products Page 

Users appreciate how each product is stacked on top of each other in this layout.

 

They also value seeing the star rating of each product before they enter the product page.

adjust when they change the 

quantity of the product.

NEXT STEPS

Additional usability testing should be conducted to evaulate specific business conversion rates.

 

Also, if Wolf and Lion wish to scale up their business, they may consider adding additional products to their app and upgrade their storage space.   

REFLECTIONS

I really enjoyed working on this project because I love using technology to improve mom and pop businesses. Oftentimes, mom and pop businesses fail to keep up with the fast pace of technology, inevitably hurting their business growth. Their excellent customer service retains their existing customers but great service alone does not effectively attract new customers. 

 

An e-commerce mobile app opens an opportunity for growth.
